New Year, New Plans

Every year I seem to trot out the same old resolutions. Save more money. Lose some weight. Drink less beer. Drink more wine. ETC.

This year, I'm turning 30. I want a proper goal! Something I'll actually do. Something I'll enjoy doing! So in my 30th year, I'm making a blog (although lord knows there have been numerous previous attempts) and it's going to chronicle my pastry adventures.

I am obsessed with pastry. And cakes. And mousses. And all desserts in general. My plan is to become a champion of pastry. A zen master of mille feuille, a queen of creme pattisiere. I am Choux Girl and I will cook, photograph, and post my journey in the art of french pastry.

It's my dream to eventually quit my tedious public service job and taken on a pastry chef apprenticeship - but in the meantime, I am going to practice, practice, practice. I'm armed with several (expensive) pastry cookbooks, and a shiny new KitchenAid, so I hope to kick some serious butt. Stay tuned, 2010 is Choux Girl's year.
